Spartan Race

Since we already had conquered Tough Mudder three times (and the date of that didn't work for us this year), we tried out a new challenge:  the Spartan Race.  So we convinced our friends, Danny and Kara, to join us for the adventure in Rancho Murrieta for a 13.5 mile run accompanied by 25 obstacles, including the fear factor of 30 burpees for each obstacle that you didn't successfully complete.  In case you don't know what a burpee is, it starts with a pushup that then goes into a jumping squat and repeat .   Now that is what we call a break from our kids.

All nice and clean before the craziness begins.

This is the rope climb, which starts off in a large ditch of muddy water.  You then ascend the rope to the top where you must ring the bell, or else, you guessed it, 30 burpees.

This is the javelin throw...one chance of sticking it in the target, or 30 burpees.  Are you starting to hate the idea of burpees?

We successfully completed the Spartan challenge as a team.
