Garrett 12y 2mo

Garrett enjoyed a full month off of school.  He found himself having ample time to "blow things up," as he imagined big battles with little ships.  He continued to read and plow through many books that he will need for Challenge A in CC this year, as well as many others for fun.  He continued to work with Joy on cooking meals so that he can have some go-to meals that he could make.  One highlight from camp was getting three bullseyes in a row!  He also played quite a bit of basketball, having spent time with Ryan in Idaho and then with Jared and his brothers at camp, he understands the pick and roll.

Building an inflatable raft to relax on.
Multiple Bullseyes and a 35 score on one round!

Big enough to drive the Go-Cart in Idaho.

Bonding with Cousin Sofia.

Griffin 8y3mo

Griffin continues to be one of most expressive kids, giving us a variety of smiling faces.  He generally enjoys everything his brothers are doing, but occasionally puts up some resistance which confuses his brothers (or is designed to keep them on their toes, you don't want to be too predictable, right?)
Digging a hole in the sand at the beach.

Smiling at one of my bullseyes.
2nd Place for archery boys division.

Rootbeer float and a Baze blaster--does it get any better?

Admiring another bullseye.

How cold am I?

Very patriotic for the 4th.
Playing Great Grandma's old organ and making it sound good.

Bryce 10 mo

Bryce became a decade old this month, celebrating it in a variety of ways with many different people.  X-Wing the miniatures game became a favorite of all the boys and Bryce enjoyed controlling when everyone played since it was his game.  He hosted another Bryce Works game at the end of the month, which featured a number of fun games that he set up for us all to play--so creative.

The Rathtar Lego set with Bala Tik, this is one Bryce has been asking them to make and it came out for his birthday!

Winner of the 1st Place Archery Award for boys!

The first of many bullseyes!

Holding Baby Sofia!

Chilling on the train ride to Santa Cruz.

Summer Play

Dreams of massive summer setups and battles danced in the minds of the boys for most of the late spring and early summer.  They finally had their dreams satisfied, although not fully quenched just yet.  There was also opportunities for Joy to catch up with some of her residency friends.

Getting to share in celebration with Caleb and Luke over their Ghost and TIE Striker assemblage.

Preparing the "big figures" for battle.

Playing Star Wars X-Wing, the game that Adrian introduced them to.

Huge Lego battle setup taking over the living room.
Army fort setup.  I wouldn't want to attack this place.
Water wars at Morgan's house.

Residency get together at Lyn's place for her annual BBQ.

Old residency friends:  Danielle and Colleen share motherhood stories with Joy.

Hoops in the driveway with neighborhood friends.

Redwood Christian Camp Highlights

We enjoyed a week at RCP where we had a great family week.  We stopped by and visited with Peter and Cheryl and their three kids at their community pool and then with Eric and his boys while paying a special visit to his mother Carol.  We received some great preparatory gifts for camp which included some shirts for tie dying and a smashball set for the beach.   Grammy and Poppy joined us for the week and were a part of our talent show act featuring a Star Wars music lesson:  Poe, Rey, B, Finn, Snoke, Hux, Renn.  Joy and Brett played on the winning volleyball team, and Brett played for the winning 3-on-3 basketball team.  Meanwhile Bryce (59) and Griffin (46) took 1st and 2nd place, respectively, in their age group in archery.   The night of laser tag was fantastic as was the square dancing night.

Some of our high scores for the week--Brett had one amazing round right next to Joy who had her best round!

Taking a picture in front of the huge ark building.

The boys took over the lower playground which the little kids usually play on...this didn't last long.
