Halloween 09

This year we missed our usual Halloween parties but that didn't mean the kids didn't dress up and have fun. Garrett was Anakin Skywalker for his preschool party. Then while we were in Seattle we joined a mall party and Garrett dressed up as a Clone Trooper while Bryce was spiderman and Griffin was Tigger.

Who dares to take on the heralded Jedi Knight?

I will defend my brothers at all costs. Did you really expect Bryce to wear a mask...nah.

I'm just trying to give my best happy Tigger impersonation. How'd I do?

Mommy and I worked hard to make these really cool cupcakes for my preschool class party. Yummy.

Sarah's Wedding

Brett's cousin, Sarah, got married in Seattle on Halloween this year. We enjoyed a beautiful day and great celebration as Sarah and Dave got married. The kids had fun at the craft and PEZ table. The cupcakes were a hit too. Surprisingly Bryce and Griffin slept for about an hour during the reception which led to some quiet times for Brett and Joy to talk to family. The boys loved the ferry ride we took to get to the wedding.

Daddy showed us how to pose with the bride (his cousin Sarah) and then we all practiced showing off our ties and fine attire.

Can we help clean up the wedding?

Bryce and my cousins jumped into the picture with Daddy's other cousin Derek and my great aunt Anne and great uncle Tom.

Rachel and Haley and I posed with the Ring Bear. Have you ever seen one of those before?

Alright you find us comfortable enough seats and we cousins will hold still for a picture.

I'm surprised I got to dance with Poppy alone..where was my big brother?

Do you think our white shirts stayed white after eating lots of yummy food?

Yummy, I've never worn a tie that I can chew on, do they make these flavored differently?

Grammy worked on art projects with me while Bryce lined up all the PEZ dispensers--trucks for him and the Yoda one for Daddy (he knows).

My peaceful side...aren't I cute.

Soccer Season Ends

Garrett's first soccer season came to an end this month, but he sure had a blast playing and certainly picked up some new skills and appreciation for the game. Bryce "sat" on the sidelines but would run out on the field during halftime and show his stuff by dribbling down and kicking goals. Can you believe he has to wait another two years to play. It is going to be killing him next year.

One of the benefits of playing soccer are the snacks you get!

I (middle background) was not afraid to get mixed up in the pile to get to the ball.

Grammy and Poppy came to one of my games, so I showed them all of my best moves including a front roll and my helicopter move (thanks Poppy for showing me that one).

Here I am flying or helicoptering my way around the field and then my Michael Jordan tongue out soccer imitation.

My team Mike's Mini Men...I am the second one on the left on the bottom. Most of the guys on the team I actually know from church, so that made it fun too.

I got a medal at our awards ceremony and pizza celebration after the season.

Rainy Day Fun

You can't beat a good rainy day with the proper equipment to enjoy the weather. Garrett and Bryce wanted to introduce Griffin to the fun-side of some rain.

Splash, splash, splash...

We loved the excuse to bust out our umbrellas and boots...do you think our feet still got pretty wet?

Griffin, you're helmet has a hole in the top, I think you need an umbrella too!

Pumpkin Patch

We met Brett's sister, Wendy, and her family for a fun day at Del Osso Farms. The cousins played together and we moved from activity to activity together to maximize our fun during the day.

Now that is what I call a pumpkin butt!

Would you rather play in a bounce house or play on a big tire with a John Deere tractor?

Ready, set, fire...splat go the pumpkins onto targets far away. Daddy, this is FUN!

I got to ride with Wendy and Haley! Bryce, how can you sleep on a super-cool train ride?

Alright, so I lost to my cousin again this year, but I'm getting faster! I'm starting a training program in time for next year's event...

All of us kids are looking...somewhere. Bryce, are you really going to let Griffin be better behaved at staying put for a picture (not like he really had a choice)?

Daddy ended up on the giant bouncing pillow with me since Bryce opted out. Wow, Daddy you knocked me down with that huge jump.

James' Wedding

We were honored to be invited to witness James and Monique marry at Sulfur Creek Nature Center this month. The funniest story was after the ceremony, Garrett asked Mommy if he could go check out the pinatas. Joy, before looking where Garrett was pointing, assured him that there were no pinatas at weddings...but Garrett persisted and sure enough there were three pinatas. Our boys danced the night away and loved every moment of it, including the Thriller sequence that the wedding party performed and the cupcake bar. Tough to beat this one for kid-friendly weddings.

See Mommy, pinatas...I'm ready to take my swing at Woody!

Daddy reminisced with James (the groom and currently dressed as Michael Jackson for the Thriller sequence). Bryce and I wanted them to tell us more about their old GI Joe battle strategies they used to employ.

I was trying to figure out all of James' dance moves to add to my repetoire.

We're pretty sure our dancing ability comes from Mommy, but we sure all love groovin' to the music.

My cupcake bar creation...how can you cram all the candy you can onto the top of a cupcake? Or maybe if I eat the candy as I "put it on."

While Garrett was dancing, Griffin and I enjoyed a little one-on-one time with Mommy and Daddy.

We all enjoyed getting to see Gusto (officiated the wedding) and his wife Ali. Griffin pulled the straw that told him he couldn't look for this picture...gotta be one of us.
