Soccer Saturday

We had some adventurous Saturdays of soccer this month.  One week, we had the Grant's 60th Anniversary Party at the church cut short by Griffin's soccer game which included a visit from Grammy and Poppy for the game and then staying afterward for a BBQ dinner.  On another Saturday, the boys had their ICC conference before Griffin rushed off to his soccer game.

Griffin is #6.

Griffin is one of the most reliable inbound throwers on his team.

Hospitalist 25th Anniversary Party

Brett's work celebrated their 25th Anniversary in existence which is a pretty long standing hospitalist group--one of the earliest in Northern California.  Brett received an expensive watch as a token of appreciation for being in his 20th year of service in the group.  He originally went expecting to get to meet the new hires, but ended up spending much time reconnecting with some of the most veteran and recently retired hospitalists.  It was difficult to recognize some people that he has pretty much only seen in a mask the last two years.  Then he had to hustle home for home group.  The funny part about the party was that he wasn't originally going to go and they told him he could have Saturday off if he did come, so then it was a done deal.

Tom (far right) talks about the founding of the group and invited the three longest tenured up (Darius, Brett, Pete) with Ramanjeet walking in front after handing the microphone to Tom.

Veteran Hospitalists:  Hui, Lyn (since retired), Brett, and Pete.

Yes, we were both a part of the recruitment package of having resident wives in Modesto.

Hui, Lyn, Danielle (Pete's wife), and Brett.  So that is what you all look like without a mask?

Men's Adult Baseball

It had been almost a year since the last one, but we were able to secure a new field as Big Valley was no longer taking outside vendors on their field.  This turned out to be a perfect day of not as hot of weather (it had been in the 100-110 range the prior five days), so high 80s to low 90s was just right.  Many thanks to Ben for hosting the event and having the field in great shape!

Take a picture before the game when we're all smiling.

Brett gives instructions to the 25 players before the game.

Scott M brought the walk-up songs to a new level of adventure with his rendition of Narco by Jimmy Trumpets with his Matador costume.

Brett played catcher two innings as well.

Andre, who coached both Garrett and Bryce, was able to make it and delivered a loud single.

Our boys enjoyed hanging out with Sunita and Kash's kids after the game at Rivets.

Sunita and her boys were some of the many fans we had in the stands.

Qi'ra thought the sight of Brett reading a big book was so rare, that she had to find out more information about "Across the Wide Missouri"

Griffin does some artwork during the First Look Debate Conference.

Griffin and Jake work together in biology lab.

Hard to have biology lab outside when it is 100+ degrees outside, so flexing to inside was an obvious choice.
