Late June happenings

Due to a prolonged absence of a functional dishwasher, the boys had to learn how to wash dishes on their own, one might ask if this was planned?

Garrett listened to some advice from Brett to correct his head position while batting and he began raking the balls, going 4-for-6 with 3 walks and 2 doubles in his 3 games since the adjustment.  Too bad he is mostly gone the whole month of July.

Ripping an RBI single to right field.

It began getting hot, so cats began lounging anywhere with anyone:  Toby and Darth...at peace?

Lauryn came over and played Villainous and Badminton.

Star Wars Lego battle...and Qi'ra wants in.

Return to the Cats

Always the question upon our return home is "will our cats still be around and did they miss us?"  Well that question was quickly answered as we had 4 consistent cats when we left and came home to the return of Wrecker.  So we are up to five again.  We'll see how they all get along with us back.  Thanks to Nancy for keeping them around and fed.

Q'ira watches the last two Kenobi episodes with us.

Darth Vader was waiting with the cat clan for our return.

Toby starting to get along with his fellow cats, or is it too hot to fight?

Leia was ready to welcome us home.

Q'ira was happy to see us and had a lot to say.

Wrecker shed his big thick coat and looks like a different cat, but as sweet as ever.

Mountain Biking at Bogus Basin

The original idea of biking at Bogus on Father's Day didn't gain traction due to 40-50 degree weather and winds up to 15 mph, so we went the following day with temperatures in the 70s and winds down to 5 mph.  It was a great choice.  I don't think we were prepared for the steep switch backs on the beginner level courses.  On the first run, Brett went over the handlebars over the lip of the switchback injuring his left shoulder, scraping up his left leg and swelling up his left pointer finger.  But that wouldn't be enough to end the day, there would be a few more casualties, but nothing catastrophic, we used all our rental time and the chair lift 4-5 times each.

The second group of us coming down the bottom of the hill back to the lift.

Navigating one of the easier switchbacks.

Starting out on the first trail called:  Student Driver.

Joy and Bryce ride the chair lift.
