USA Gymnastics Olmpic Trials

When we found out that the US Gymnastics Olympic Trials were going to be in San Jose, we knew that Joy needed to be there to see some high quality gymnastic talent and relive some of her gymnastic memories in the process.  Joy went with her friend Carrie on Friday night, Garrett and Brett went Saturday afternoon to the mens, and Brett and Joy went together on Sunday evening for the women's final.  What amazing talent and skills we all witnessed in person, from the past of Nastia Lukin and Alicia Sacrimone to the present of Gabby Douglass and Jordyn Weiber of MI (whose coach gave pointers to Joy back in her teenage days).   We will see how successful the Gymnastic teams are in London this year.  While Joy was gone on Friday afternoon and evening the boys had their first all-boy night which featured a trip to the "gift shop" to buy baseball cards and dinner at Weinerschnitzel--thanks Poppy for establishing that tradition.  There has been a call for a second night of all-boys in the future.  One more odd occasion that Brett really wasn't sure how to respond to...he was asked not to clap because he was a big and strong man and had a very intimidating clap.  Ponder that one for a little while, what?
