Carmel - Monterey

We had intended to go to Carmel as a couple for a romantic weekend before Griffin was born, but a pronouncement of bedrest altered that plan. So we decided to use our reservation on a family getaway for all five of us. We spent two days in the Carmel/Monterey area exploring, relaxing, and having fun.

I'm not sure what Bryce is all giggly about...

Are you sure this is a good idea? I am thirsty, but...

An authentic train to play on...I know what you're thinking , that doesn't really look safe to climb on...at least it's not moving...

Why go the easy way, when you climb up the hard way.

Daddy, aren't you a little big for that slide? Did you just get stuck?

When the cookie smiles, well you pretty much have to also.

Now I will perform the chicken dance, wait a minute are you going to take my picture...noooooo

You should see my lips go up and down as I jackhammer.

I didn't know that this was such a fancy breakfast...I think we should eat like this more often.

Man, I really pounded the eggs here, but I've got to tell you, these chairs are HUGE.

How long do you think it took to get this picture? First try, right?

Now do I (Griffin) have to be the one to tell you not to fight with your brother...break it up.

I am the proud creator of this pizza, hope it tastes good too.

I think I helped make this one...can I have another piece of cheese?

I'm getting paid to do this...no, oh, bummer, well it was fun anyways.

A's Game with Cousins - Griffin's 1st

Early in the month, we attended the Athletics ballgame with Brett's sister's family. It was Griffin's first A's game and cousin Rachel's first ballgame. Some nice sweet snacks made the game a hit for all involved. The cousins enjoyed their first ballgame as a complete group of five.

We are all smiles after those sno cones, now we're confused, are we the entertainment or is there something going on down there on the field?

I'm really enjoying this deal of having my own seat.

This jacket and my pants are MLB official SPF 45, so if I get a sunburn...

Hmmm, I'm still deciding on whether I like the DH...guess I might have to see some more games to decide.

Hey Dad, I might be comfortable and all, but I'm having a really hard time seeing.

Mommy, this is one of my favorite sleeping positions.

Let's Go A's!

Daddy, they gave me this sword, what am I supposed to do with it? Are we playing the Pirates today?

June 2009

June welcomed summer with a bang, as we were sweating out days of 107 degrees already. This month we made it to our first A's game of the year with Brett's sister and her family. We celebrated Father's Day with a melding of Brett's two favorite pastimes Star Wars and baseball, and we took our first overnight trip as a family of five to your typical family vacation spot, Carmel by the Sea?! This month we decided to include three individual video clips of the boys: Garrett in his first big dance performance, Bryce and his love for diving, and Griffin already trying to talk like his big brothers. So check out all our fun this month below.

The Boys

Having three boys, all about two years apart, will lead to many future adventures. We are trying to take them one day at a time so that we can cherish their interactions and see how their relationships grow .

You've got to admit that we look cute here!

First bath for our brother Griffin.

We are Mommy's boys, all four of us.

Ready for our first walk as a family.

We smell great, thanks to Mommy and a bath.

Everyone who thinks Mommy looks tired raise your hand.

Can we help, Mommy?

Thanks for letting us borrow your mixer truck, Griffin...I knew getting him that for a present would work out for us Bryce.

Griffin 1mo

Griffin had his first professional pictures taken at 2 weeks old. Isn't he sweet.

Griffin turned one month in May and, of course, he's already been to a ballgame. Now just because he is the third child doesn't mean that we are going to skimp on pictures of him. In fact, we know more how to do pictures of this guy because we've had two to practice on! He has survived all of the assassination attempts conceived by his older brothers early on. Graco must get some credit for making a good car seat because studies now reveal that it can roll over down stairs without harming the occupant. Griffin is not sure he is willing to sign a waiver for the next human study his brothers apply for. He's learning.

I'm not as dumb as you think I am.

Here I am demonstrating my primary defense mechanism.

Couldn't that gentle kiss just help you fall asleep for hours?

Doesn't Mommy look good? That's what Daddy said.

With all this hair, I think I could give Samson a run for his money.

Daddy is trying to get me all tuned up for that nice nap I'm going to take. But I've gotta ask...are yawns contagious?

Yes I am having a bad hair day!

You wouldn't think that with my neck all crooked, that I would be so comfortable.
