Easter in Tracy

We had some more egg hunting on Easter itself. This time there were messages in the eggs with the candy to remind us of the true story of Easter. Then we spent the afternoon in Tracy with Brett's parents and sister's family. The kids enjoyed another egg hunt with their cousins.

Daddy laid down the rules of the egg hunt and then we helped each other find all the eggs.

Green, my favorite color, and pretty much the only one I will say when asked what color something is.

Oooooh, I got one, and this is where I put it.

So what easter basket is Griffin going to use?

Grammy told us to find our colors, and we did.

This is FUN!

We cousins all show our various prizes off to the camera.

I think there might be one under the bricks, but I'm not sure I can lift it.

I just need one more!

I think we did a pretty good job getting most of the coloring on our eggs and not on our hands or hair.

Grammy, look at my yellow egg, kind of looks like the ship that Padme and Jar Jar drive on Naboo.

Aunt Wendy and Uncle James with their two princesses: Rachel and Haley. Good thing we took nice pictures before we started to play Star Wars.

More Easter Fun

We had a few Easter celebrations this year before the actual day. First, the boys and Joy decorated eggs and did an egg hunt with Sam and her kids. Then, we joined Derick and Christina and their boys for the annual Hughson egg hunt followed by the stroll through downtown. Bryce seemed to overachieve a little for his age group...

We chased the Easter bunny down the street, and finally got a picture with him.

Our all boy crew for easter egg hunting.

Give me five!

Daddy, I know I got 9 eggs, but I wanted more!

Look there is good candy inside these eggs.

Okay, I've got it, I pick them up and put them right here.

Oooohhh, what's in here?

Look at all the beautiful colors on our eggs.

Do I get to go easter egg hunting this year?

Cheese, although I doubt that there is any cheese in these eggs.

Me, Noah, Brianna, and my brother get ready for the go ahead to gather eggs. Bryce is still playing with trucks, so I think he's going to lose...

Bowling Fun

Trying to do as much as possible before Griffin joined us in the world became a theme, so we gathtered up our friends Steve and Carrie and Tim and Christie and their kids for a night of bowling. Joy beat us all with a 135, but Tim held the record for fastest ball bowled at 21.5 mph.

Which one is bigger, the bowling ball or Griffin?

Using the air flow for his own purpose, guess who taught him that one...me!

I want to do it myself, Daddy.

I think this was a pretty good date with Kaylee, kind of looks like we're at a 50s diner, wait how would I know that?

Griffin's Baby Shower

Thank goodness the shower was after Joy got off bedrest. That way we didn't have to put her in a wheelchair to get her there. She had a great time getting to talk with friends, play games, and begin to celebrate the anxious expectation of Griffin's arrival.

Who knows the answer to that one? So Mommy when do I get to go to a shower?

Mommy sure does look pretty, doesn't she.

Careful Mommy, don't say Griffin's name or you'll lose your pin.

Thanks to Sam for putting the shower together.

Grammy and Mommy smile for the camera as we make goofy faces at them.

Joy's Bday and Our Anniversary

Joy's birthday and our anniversary always come real close together, so we celebrated a little bit of both on the same day. In the morning Bryce and Garrett gave Mommy her presents they picked out, then Grammy and Poppy came over to watch the kids while we escaped for a swimming date and lunch. Then we returned for ice cream cake. Mmmmmm. The next day we went out for a nice dinner just the two of us. How quiet it was...

Bryce and I were planning which candles we were going to blow out and then lick while Mommy was trying to take a nice picture.

Storing the chocolate on my face for later is my ulitmate plan.

Candy and Star Wars figures is what we picked out for Mommy, Daddy just provided the cash...

Yeah, we signed a consent to allow Mommy and Daddy to leave us for an evening to have a nice dinner.

Castle Airforce Base

The first day that Joy was taken off of bedrest, she was ready to get out of the house. The boys had been talking about airplanes ever since our last plane flight, so going to the Castle Air Museum in Atwater, CA was a great treat for them. What a beautiful day too!

Can two pilots fly the same plane? Or is that a ticket for disaster?

Daddy and I forgot our parachutes so it's a good thing this plane wasn't too far off the ground. Oh yeah, Poppy has a model of this one.

Isn't this an airplane museum? HONK! Wow, Bryce cover your ears.

Mommy and her three boys, yup we're counting Griffin already.

Daddy stick your hands up: we are pretending we are inside the cockpit manning the guns.

We think this one was a pretty easy target given the bright colors...

April 2009- Our Family of Five!

This month we became a family of five a week earlier than was expected. Griffin was born at 1:18am on April 23rd weighing in at 8 pounds and 4 ounces with a length of 20.5 inches. He is our biggest baby yet. Joy is doing well in her recovery as well, much happier having him out rather than in. The month started out with birthday and anniversary celebrations along with the long awaited removal from bedrest for Joy. So we became mobile again. We tried to enjoy every moment before Griffin's birth. And now we are soaking in the memories of his first few days with us. Griffin has been great and we are each adjusting in our own rights to his arrival. Joy has truly been a trooper as she has been the glue that has held us all together as we deal with illness in the eldest three boys (yes, including Brett). But hopefully we are through the worst of it. Thanks to our friends and family who have helped out as they are able, we couldn't have done it without you.
