Joy's SD Conference

Joy was sent by work to a health care quality conference in San Diego.  She appreciated the perspectives she heard and we were happy to have her back home when the three day conference was completed.

One Crazy Saturday

While Joy was having a quiet Saturday morning in  our backyard, Brett realized that they could potentially get a three for one deal.  The ICC intern team was flying through SFO on their way back from Singapore to Nashville, so there would be an opportunity to surprise Bryce.  Then there was a snafu with the Post Office not delivering a package on time to one of the ICC team members while they were in California for two days.  And in case, it didn't work out time wise, we arranged to meet Wendy and James for lunch and Top Golf in Burlingame.  Joy made the comment that her spontaneous husband was in rare form on this day.  The first phase of the plan almost failed as we circled in the parking lot at SFO not finding ANY legal parking spots until a tiny Mini Cooper pulled out of its parking spot.  Not wanting to miss seeing Bryce, Joy got out and Brett carefully inched their SUV into a spot never designed to fit our car.  Then it was off to see if we could see Bryce and his team.  Success!  We effectively surprised him, after completing a 16 hour flight, he wasn't sure if he was hallucinating or whether we were real.  Then after saying goodbye, we were off to our next meeting, but we arrived an hour early, so we took advantage of the beautiful walking path along the San Francisco Bay.  Next we met up with Wendy and James for a fun few hours of golfing and eating and catching up.

Weekend Activities

With our church AC out of commission, we met in the Pavilion and that meant Griffin had a different post in running video cameras for the on-line service and Garrett was in a different spot on guitar.  He said it felt a little like being back in high school.  Additionally that weekend, we played golf and had the first unveiling of the Mos Eisley cantina.

Giants Game

Brett hadn't had any opportunities to see a Giants game this year, but Eddie was not going to let that continue.  Brett was able to get the second half of his afternoon clinic closed so he could leave to be able to make it to the game that evening.  They got stuck in traffic so they missed the first couple of innings, but when they arrived, the seats were amazing.  Brett had never been in this good of seats aside from fantasy camp.  It was great to see splash hit #108 by Rafael Devers.  The time talking was well spent.

Impact Team

The ICC Impact team made a stop in California for two days to work and present their first assembled presentation to chapter Affirm.  We enjoyed hosting the guys at our house and Bryce loved being home even if he spent very little time here.  Then they were off.  Garrett and Brett each drove a third of the team to SFO.  Then it was on to Singapore for the team where they met up with the Southeast Asia portion of the team, before they would move onto to Indonesia and Malaysia.
