Joy's Birthday

She is still in her 40s and enjoyed the celebrating that occurred over the course of about a week.  Both of her work venues in administration and in the clinic honored her, as did her family at home, although not on her actual birthday.

Joy's administration office decorated.

Dinner with the family and the presentation of a storied present.

Playing the "train" game and trying to complete the routes.

Did Joy get her own set of Ahsoka lightsabers?

Doing some fitness training along with Garrett for his PE class at MJC.

Coaxed into the break room to give a medical impression of something the staff had never seen before!

Working on our newest plates.

Check out the detail in Joy's plate, can't wait to see it fired up.

Easter Sunday

We all got to attend church together and Bryce and Griffin served in the tech department.  Then we gathered in Tracy to celebrate with Grammy and Poppy and Wendy and James and Haley and Rachel.  Great to have the whole crew together.  We also celebrated April birthdays!

Church pictures!

Evidence that Brett did have a color wheel when he was younger--it is true!

Grammy and Poppy discuss the "last" Easter egg hunt with the cousins.

It was raining a bit, so putting the basket on your head made sense for a little while?

Anniversary Weekend

Sharing our anniversary with Easter this year was a new experience.  We believe it was the first time in our 23 years of marriage.  So we celebrated on the day before by going to a Board and Brush Studio and making signs to put up in our house.  It was an interesting time where we each tackled projects we thought would be fun and would actually have a place in our house.  Then we went to lunch together, came home, watched a little baseball on TV, and then put our projects up.  That evening we went out to a nice dinner and then picked up dessert to bring home and share with the boys.

Joy was uncertain about how her project was going to turn out.

Brett was confident they would both turn out with a good project.

Picking the stain color.

Working on the stencil for the words.

Finished products!

Finding spots in the house to put them up.

A quiet dinner out together at Ciao Bello.

Six Crumble cookies to share.

Leia cuddles with Joy.

The boys had the whole day to play Legion, and it took the whole day!

Mercy Me and company concert

After a long tournament weekend with ICC, we pondered whether to go or not to the concert in Stockton, but we decided to go and very happy we did.  Three fun bands and a good time of hanging out with the Junginger family as well as a surprise visit from Jonathan.  We couldn't stay after to meet the Newsboys since Brett and Joy had early morning work and meetings.

David Leonard was a pleasant surprise.

Michael Tait leading the Newsboys, crazy to think of his age since he is 7 years older than Brett.

Boys club:  welcome Jonathan to visiting our section!

Mercy Me was the headliner with Bart Millard singing.

Joy was at the concert too, just missed the picture.
