Father’s Day

After going to church with family, we set out for an adventurous Father's Day.  First it was lunch at a mexican restaurant in Meridian, then it was a quick stop at Dick's for some sporting equipment for the next days.  Finally it was Mini Golf and Laser Tag, before heading back to the farm for a late dinner.

Visiting the Louis Family

It was later than we had planned, but Tim and Christie were happy to have us come over for dinner at 8:30 after we returned from Lewiston and showered off 3 days of sweat and dirt.  While the adults and Garrett and Kaylee caught up and shared stories, Bryce, Griffin, and Caden worked on making up a creative game based on other games (Bryce's specialty).

Day 3 Snake River

The final day was similar to the final day of our first ROW trip, but this time instead of being a part of a huge flotilla with an engine, we were all in the rowboat doing our job of rowing and trying to keep in sync with the other side.  We ended our day in Lewiston, WA and got our car back in Lewiston, Idaho.

Anna was in charge of our rowboat the final day (Jim is to Anna's left).

Day 2 on the Snake

On the second day, we awoke, packed up our campsite and proceeded onto the river.  Today, Bryce and Garrett led off the kayaking and each had their adventure in the water before turning a kayak back over to Brett.  Unfortunately, in some very tough eddys and boils, Brett got sucked under and had to ditch his paddles to get back to the surface after some time.  He eventually got his paddles back, but could not make it back to his kayak as he was getting pushed downstream faster than it was, so he made his way to the raft ahead of him and then the kayak was caught by that raft and he decided not to end his day that way, getting back into the kayak until lunch time at which point he handed over the kayak to the bachelor party guys.  Our stopping point for the evening was just beyond the confluence of the Snake and Salmon Rivers just a bit downstream of where we had stayed the time before we were on the Salmon River (at this point that campsite was completely underwater as the river was much higher and faster and colder than our first time in 2018).

Camp set up for the second night, there was talk of sleeping outside, but good thing we didn't, it rained on us this night.
